Q. Why belong to ASAE & The Center?
We are the largest, and the only international organization serving the association community.
This, coupled with our commitment to excellence, means that we offer the greatest variety of tools and resources for our members. Our international scope uniquely qualifies us to offer broad networking opportunities and be the advocacy voice of associations to the federal government.

Q. Why does ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership use both names?
In 2004, the American Society of Association Executives, the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives, the ASAE Foundation, and The Center for Association Leadership joined together in an historic partnership. As part of our agreement, the four legacy organizations became two partner organizations, linked together by a common purpose and sharing many resources.  The linked names are a symbol of our unity of purpose and helps avoid the confusion of our members and customers having to figure out which product or initiative is offered by which organization.

Q. What does ASAE stand for?
ASAE stands for the American Society of Association Executives. Founded in 1920, ASAE now has more than 22,000 association CEOs, staff professionals, industry partners, and consultant members. In order to reflect the partnership as a result of the merger, the organizations are now referred to as ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership.
